reallycorking created this amazingly beautiful picture and mentioned that she'd like a fic to go along with it. Well, I delivered! (I hope.)
Title: Touch Summary: Harry is, as always, no good at apologizing. But he is willing to try. Rating: PG13 Word Count: 1446 Notes/Warnings: Harry/Ginny. Also: gloriously unbetaed! And, since I have to go to bed because I have work in the morning, I have not even read through it properly myself. Proceed at your own risk!

5:56 pm - a little post, without fic
|
Hi, everyone! I hope everyone had great holidays, and happy New Year to you all! Anyway, I have a few things to say, so bear with me.
First of all, thank you to everyone who has recently friended me / friended me after "Translation" / reviewed "Translation" / reviewed other things / been cool / wished me well with college applications / whatever. Seriously, you guys, much love. I get very happy when people leave reviews and/or rec me; it definitely brightens my day.
However, I would like to make a request that I hope is not too big of a deal. I mention it in my info, but I am not sure if everyone reads my info. If you friend me, please leave me a review or a note saying you're friending me. You don't need to wait for me to reply or anything before you friend me--I try to reply to comments, but I often don't get around to it--and I hope it's okay if I don't friend you back. (I would love to be able to friend you all, but I don't have time to read that many journals :/) And I especially hope that this requirement won't make you feel like you can't friend this journal, because of course you can.
But the thing is, because I assume that all people have me friended for the fics (this is, after all, a fic journal) I don't think it's too much to ask that you leave a review. After all, if you liked them enough to friend me, you must like them enough to review, right? It's sort of the "if you want to friend me, leave a comment" idea that I know is really common.
I'm not exactly the world's greatest reviewer, either, so I totally understand if you forget or don't want to leave one or anything. There won't be any so-called "punishment" for not reviewing or commenting before you friend me. But I hope that you will do it anyway, just because I like to know who's reading my fics and who is watching for updates.
This is not directed at any one specific person or even people; I don't keep a record account of who's reviewed or anything :P I just wanted to let you guys know. :)
That said, I anticipate that updates are forthcoming. I am working on two stories now, and I hope that my schedule will be being freed up in a week or two, thereby leaving me more time to write.
And thank you to everyone who has left so many great reviews and recced my stories, because it means a lot to me. Not to get too sappy, but it's true! You are really great, and I truly appreciate it. :)

11:33 pm - beta request
|
Hey dudes. Back from the dead. Well, sort of.
Anyway, I just wrote a story, but it's been a long time since I've written any fanfic, and this was written pretty quickly, so I would like to get it beta-read before I post it.
It's called "Translation", light R, 920 words or so.
Anyway, email me at poseida_9[at]yahoo.com if you are interested! It doesn't have to be an intensive beta job, just some constructive criticism or general feedback would be great.
Thanks, everyone, for all the recs and so forth in my absence. Actually antosha_c wrote a really nice rec of Carousel at crack_broom which really made me happy and made me want to write fic some more. So thanks! :)
I am working on a longer fic but I can't promise anything. Life is pretty hectic right now. Fun, but hectic. :)

10:53 pm - sorry about the lack of updates
|
Hey you guys. I just wanted to apologize for the lack of updates. I haven't really had a lot of time to write lately--and writing post-HBP is hard for me, something I have to spend time on and get used to, I think--because I am swamped with schoolwork and college applications and so I am not positive that I will have anything written anytime soon. And my muse is a little absent, too. I've started a bunch of things and may end up finishing them one of these days, hopefully, but I just wanted to give you all a heads-up as to why this journal's so quiet.
I am also thinking about writing for Katrina relief--a kind of auction off of my writing services. If you bid highest and donate all the money to Katrina relief, I'll write you a story? I am not positive about this, but I am contemplating it, so if anyone has any thoughts on this, let me know. I hope this is not a stupid idea. I am really tired and not really thinking straight. :)
So, hope everything is well with all you! I am not disappearing anywhere or anything--still am prowling around the H/G LJ community--but I did want to apologize for not having any stories up lately.

9:13 pm - back in action
|
So I know I said I'd be back on the 23rd, but my Internet was down and then I went on vacation again, so I've only just gotten back a few days ago. New canon and RL and stuff mean that I haven't got any fics ATM, but hopefully sooner or later my muse will pounce. In the meantime, parakletos tagged me for a meme: Five songs I'm currently digging. So here we go:
1. "Pon de Replay", Rihanna 2. "Ojala", Silvio Rodriguez 3. "El Ultimo Adios", Paulina Rubio 4. "You and Me," Lifehouse 5. "Hey, Johnny Park," Foo Fighters
Haha, my taste is pretty random, I guess :P But "Pon de Replay" is totally at the top of that list. I LOVE THIS SONG. Ahhh.
Anyway, hi, everyone! I'm glad to see the fandom hasn't disappeared because of new canon! (New and, may I say, excellently H/G canon!!! I hope this doesn't spoil anyone--but I imagine everyone's read HBP by now!)

8:02 pm - bye!
|
I'm leaving until July 23rd! I'll see you all then--hopefully HBP doesn't discourage anyone from writing. I'm sorry to say I don't think I'll have time to post any more fic, sorry :( But I trust that HBP will inspire us all a lot! I hope. I almost (ALMOST) don't want H/G to get into a relationship in this book, just so that I can write more fic about them getting together :P but we'll see.
So see you all post-HBP! Just wanted to let you know that I'm going. Of course, I welcome reviews and so forth in my absense :)

|
My entry for vafizziks's Some Like It Het challenge. There was some discussion about hot G-rated het, so I thought I'd try, though I don't know that I succeeded.
Title: Contact Summary: Hermione and Ron confess to each other, aloud and silently. "'It's just that everything changes,' Hermione says, looking over Ron's shoulder, out at the dark night. 'Most things,' he agrees." Rating: G Word Count: 1540 Notes/Warnings: A swerve out of H/G. But I'll swerve back :)

My entry for the hpgw_otp contest! The emotion I chose was "okay". I wrote another entry but decided I didn't like it enough :P so here's this one instead (I know, I know, I keep making a habit of this). I am hoping to post another fic soon, but I've got to polish it up first. In the meantime, this is my early birthday present to, er, myself. (If anyone else wants to give me a fic-present this weekend, I would smile a lot ;) )
Title: Okay Summary: Harry's being stupid. Ginny tries to talk to him. Rating: G Word Count: 699 (I totally got it under the max word count! Go me!) Notes/Warnings: I would just like you all to notice how this has the Best. Summary. In. The. World.

7:06 pm - Losing Harry & a couple notes
|
The prequel to Meeting Harry is now here, whee!
Losing Harry Meeting Harry
Demand for a sequel is making me consider it. We'll see. I have lots on my plate for tonight--watching Strictly Ballroom with my sis, for instance ;) I should probably stop admitting to my habit of succumbing to reviewers' requests... but I can't help it; reviews make me so happy.
I am leaving next Monday (June 27th)--not because of any HBP thing, just because I am going away. I will be back July 23rd (well, okay, 24th, because I'll be reading HBP all night the 23rd), unless HBP zaps the fanfic buzz out of me, which it probably won't :P
However, that leaves me a whole... uhhh... six days to post lots of stories. And, to clog your flists, but I have a lot of stories I'm sitting on :) I hope that adequately explains the deluge that's in order.
ALSO, VERY IMPORTANT: I have changed my email address. It is now poseida_9[at]yahoo[dot]com. With an underscore. My other provider (mail. com) was being bitchy with ads and stuff, so yes. Just to let you know. If you're going to send me a direct email, which I would love, of course, send it to the new one, because I'll check my old one every so often but not routinely.
So, now that you've read all this, you should go read Losing/Meeting Harry, and review it. Because they're probably shorter than this entry. Combined. And soaking wet.

10:11 pm - fave-ish songs & a beta search
|
I've been putting this off for a while, and though I said I'd put a lot of thought into it, I haven't, but here are six I really like, if not necessarily my top six, in no particular order--
1) Shakira, "Si Te Vas" 2) Ani DiFranco, "Fucking Napoleon" 3) Shakira, "Ojos Asi" 4) Alanis Morissette, "Hands Clean" (though I think I may only like this song in small doses) 5) Garbage, "Stroke of Luck" 6) Ani DiFranco, "School Night"
And, um, yeah, I am totally aware that these all are a few years old. :P (Actually I do like some current songs, but it is kind of embarrassing--for instance, I really like "Candy Shop", even though it is so sexist and ridiculous. But I can't help myself!) ALSO! I am just going to put this out there--I'll go to a beta directory soon, but it is for a challenge-y thing, so I want to get it done quickly if possible--I'm looking for a beta for a short G-rated R/Hr fic.
Yep, that's right; R/Hr, not H/G.
It's 1423 words, titled "Eye Contact" (unless inspiration strikes me for a better title). It might be PG, but I am aiming for G, not because I have anything against PG and up fics, but because I am challenging myself to write a shippy fic with romance at a G rating. Sooo. I am looking for someone to beta for characterization and also to give me lots and lots of general feedback. I don't need a proofreader: I do make typos and mistakes, of course, but I think the bigger thing for this is plotty stuff. So, yep! If you are interested, drop me a line here or at poseida[at]mail[dot]com.
Thanks!

10:51 am - Carousel, H/G, PG-13, 4666 words
|
I got tagged for the music meme by scarlett711777 so that will come later, once I decide. Gear yourself up for lots of Shakira and Ani DiFranco, though, because I am pathetic and know practically no music, and once I find something I like I just listen to a lot of it :P
Title: Carousel Summary: "She can live without him. She's heard women whose husbands died in the war say that their men were all they had, that it was impossible to live without them, and she doesn't quite believe them. He wasn't hers, anyway, and she never wanted him to be." Rating: PG-13. But probably closer to PG. Word Count: 4666 Notes/Warnings: thanks to r_becca for the look-see; I super-appreciate it. And also, thank you guys, aka future and past reviewers, because I often forget to reply to comments, but I really do appreciate all the nice words and good criticism and so forth :)

My hpgw_ficafest entry is totally up! w00t! Here it is:
Pulse. PG13. 1710 words. H/G.
I have not been around lately because RL is very very busy, but I like this fic and I hope it makes up for my long absence :P (I am fully aware that practically no one noticed said absence, but this is not the point)
I have my ficafest art entry ready but I think I will wait a little bit to put it up. So look out for that too! (Or don't, whichever. :P )

9:29 pm - art! Being Noble
|
Yes, you read correctly--art! I am certainly not that great, but I did draw this picture (and color it, sloppily and with an inexperienced hand, in Photoshop), which is from one of the scenes in Being Noble. Well, sort of.
"When you finally go into Hogsmeade, it is trailing behind Ron and Hermione, who are bickering as they always do. It is snowing. Neither of you talk. 'Do you want my scarf?' he asks nicely, nervously. You look at him. His nose is red and his eyes are worried. 'And you say you’re not noble,' you tease, your voice quavering. He shakes his head and smiles a real smile."

11:57 am - for r_becca
|
I have been very busy lately, which is why I haven't been writing much, and I am still rather busy, but I am taking a minute to post this for r_becca, who challenged me to write a story about Harry having to take care of Ginny while she is sick.
Title: Delirious Summary: Harry has to take care of Ginny while she is sick. (An adventurous summary, I know, I know) Rating: PG Word Count: 883 Notes/Warnings: This is a little odd--just warning you. Ummm yes. It was also written late at night, and I just read it over, but I am still tired, so it may be full of errors/bad transitions, etc.
( Delirious )
Also, I will probably not have any time to write for a while, but if the first--oh, I don't know, three or four?--people who review this want to give me a prompt for a fic, I will take it, as long as it is not completely impossible to do nicely :)
